Walking, along with cycling, catching public transport and carpooling is an environmentally friendly way to get around. Walking doesn't cost anything, is environmentally friendly and is healthy for both your mind and body.

Did you know that 10% cent of all car trips are less than 1km and 30% are less than 3km (Qld Transport, 2005, Travelsmart and Health). The average person can walk 1km in 15 minutes. So next time you drive to the corner store or visit a friend, consider walking instead.
