With an extensive network of pathways and off road trails, walking and cycling are encouraged on the Sunshine Coast. Cyclists share paths with pedestrians and a range of vehicles including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and skateboarders just to name a few.
Cyclists should know their rights and obligations but be aware that pedestrians have the right of way on shared pathways. So when riding, be aware of what is happening around you, watch out for others and always excercise due care and attention.
On the Sunshine Coast cyclists can ride on any footpath except in certain commercial and retail centres. The following tips should help you share our paths safely.
