Cyclists should not be afraid of riding at night. As long as you observe the guidelines below riding at night can be an efficient way of getting around as there are fewer cars and the streets are empty.
Lights
You must have a front and rear light when riding at night.
Front Light
You are required to have a flashing or steady white light that can be seen for at least 200m.
Rear Light
You are required to have a flashing or steady red light that can be seen for at least 200m.
You can be fined $30 on the spot if you don't have lights!
Being Reflective
Add reflective stickers, material and tape to your clothing, shoes, bike, bags or helmet.
