Public Transport Public transport is a luxury only normally afforded to those living in densley populated urbanised or metro areas. The Sunshine Coast goes against this trend by providing a variety of reliable, stress free, affordable and smart public transport services; bus, train, flexilink services, taxis, council cabs, and airport transport just to name a few. Further information on these public transport options can be accessed through the menu to the left. There is an extensive bus network on the Coast servicing the coastal cities, hinterland and most places in between. To discover which bus service is the best for you consult the Translink Journey Planner or visit the Sunbus website. Train services to and from Brisbane arrive regularly on the Coast with a number of stops between Caboolture in the south and Cooran to the north. The best way to explore your train options is to use the Translink Journey Planner and consult the Translink rail network map. In areas not regularly serviced by bus or train, a Flexilink service may be available. Further information on this service can be accessed through the Flexilink page. During the peak holiday Christmas season, Council, TransLink, and Sunbus provide free holiday bus services throughout the Sunshine Coast. This service reduces traffic congestion at the busiest locations such as Noosa Heads, Mooloolaba and Caloundra by making free, easy, stress-free and convenient public transport available throughout the Coast. Further information can be accessed at the Free Holiday Bus page. With all these options at your fingertips there is no need to struggle through the traffic and parking chaos in your car. Leave the car at home, get out on the public transport and let someone else do the driving! |
