Public Transport
Stress free, affordable and smart travel is encompassed by a number of public transport services in Noosa's Coastal and Hinterland Areas, and not limited to local buses.
Train services to and from Brisbane arrive at the Cooroy Rail Station nestled in the Hinterland gateway to Noosa, and complimentary to the well established and contemporary township of Cooroy. Included with the train service is the new trial Hinterland bus that travels from Cooran to Noosa Heads via Pomona, Cooroy, Tewantin, Noosa Civic and Noosa Junction.
After transferring from train to bus patrons can continue to interchange at Tewantin with either the Boreen Point $2 flexi-taxi service or other bus services that travel along the Noosa River foreshore at Noosaville. If visitors or residents want to continue along the David Low Way coastal road or travel to Sunshine Beach and Sunrise Beach, you can interchange with other bus services at the Hastings Street, Noosa Heads transit centre.
Included with the train, buses and Boreen Point $2 taxi service are the Suncoast Cab taxi service, and Noosa River ferry cruises from Tewantin to Noosa Heads. Travelling along the Noosa River can reveal surprising views on how Noosa is geographically and naturally organised.
During the peak holiday seasons of Christmas, New Year and Easter Council, TransLink, Sunbus and Tourism Noosa put on a free holiday bus service throughout Noosa. The free holiday bus service reduces traffic congestion at the busiest locations such as Noosa Heads by making free, easy, stress-free and convenient public transport available throughout Noosa. All local bus services exclusive to Noosa are free, with additional temporary bus services to further reduce traffic congestion during these busy times.
