Noosa has a climate and ambiance that is particularly suited to the use of scooters and motorcycles as an alternative form of transport in preference to the motor car.  Council has developed a strategy to increase the responsible market share of scooters and motor cycles within Noosa Shire.  Scooters and motorcycles offer many benefits over the use of motor cars including:

• Take up less road space, this is particularly valuable when parking as up to 5 scooters or motorcycles can be parked in the equivalent space of one motor car.
• Parking a car in the tourist areas of Noosa can be extremely difficult during peak times, however, parking a scooter is easy and Noosa Council will be rolling out many new parking spaces specifically designed for scooters and motorcycles over the next few years.
• They have much smaller engines than motor cars and therefore use significantly less petrol which has ensuing benefits of reducing your individual carbon footprint whilst also costing considerably less.
