Mountain Bike Riding in Noosa

Whether you are a novice or experienced rider, Noosa has a mountain bike experience for you. Rides range from easy fire trails through to technical singletrack. There are a variety of trails on offer with rides carrying from 5km through to 100km!!
Where to Ride
The main areas to Mountain Bike include Tewantin State Forest, Ringtail Forest and the Noosa Trail Network.
Tewantin State Forest
Located on the outskirts of Noosa and boarded by Tewantin, Cooroibah, Tinbeerwah and Lake Macdonald on the Sunshine Coast, Tewantin State Forest is a large area to explore and is a mixture of challenging singletrack and firebreaks. See UBD Map 7
The main entrance and popular for Mountain Bikers is the entrance to the Wooroi Day Use Area on Cooroy Noosa Road. The forest offers a mixture rainforest, open eucalypt forest and wallum remnants, and the scenery while riding constantly changes. Tewantin has some very aggressive climbs and technical singletrack. NoosaTrail Network
The Noosa Trail Network offers longer mountain bike rides and riders can complete specific sections or combine trails to vary lengths. The trails are recommended for riders with a high fitness level.
The trails cater for walkers, horse riders and mountain bike riders and cross a variety of terrain. Trail bike riders, 4WDs and dogs are not permitted. The trail has been minimally modified, so encounters with fallen debris, holes, rocks, mud and grass may be expected and could pose problems, especially for mountain bike riders.
The trail offers six main rides, see below.
Trail 1 - Kin Kin Countryside Loop (14km circuit)
Trail 2 - Scenic Trail (26km one way)
Trail 3 - Kin Kin to Cooran via Western Branch Road
(22km one way)
Trail 4 - Kin Kin to Lake Macdonald (26km one way)
Trail 5 - Pomona to Cooran (10km one way)
Trail 6 - Cudgerie Loop (5km circuit)

When out riding on bushland tracks and trails please observe the following:

Mountain Biking in National Parks and Forest Reserves
Cycling is not allowed in Noosa Heads National Park and it is generally illegal to ride a bicycle within a National Park.
